Everybody Wants to Be Liked

By , February 4, 2011

I’ve added the FaceBook “Like” button to all LessonIndex.com directory pages (but not this blog). On individual book-title pages, the Like button appears just below the Amazon ad in the right margin.

I’ve also shortened several thousand product descriptions (shown if you pause your mouse over a product title), and added pricing and some other details for a few dozen products.

  1. Mark Welch says:

The Facebook “fan page” for LessonIndex.com had been adding several “Likes” every day, and now has more than 480 “Likes.”

But the web site itself has been stuck at exactly 141 “Likes” for several weeks. (Facebook has separate systems for “Liking” a Facebook Page and for “Liking” a web site.)

Facebook no longer supports the “Like” button on third-party sites, but instead now offers a “Share” button (which forces the visitor to broadcast the link in their Facebook account).

I’ve removed the Facebook links from the LessonIndex.com web site.
